日本庭園の中に、水田がみられる場所があります。
There is a place where paddy field can be seen in the Japanese garden.
小石川後楽園です。
It is Koishikawa Korakuen.

回遊庭園を時計回りに歩き、
山を越え、
森を越え、
梅林を越えると
水田が広がります。
Walking around the going round style in landscape garden in a clockwise direction,
Over the mountain,
Over the forest,
Beyond ume, Japanese apricot garden,
Paddy spreads.
雀よけに、網がかかっています。
The net is hanging against sparrows.
今年は、雨の日が多くて、なかなかふっくらしなかった実。
ようやく膨らんできました。

この水田は、水戸徳川家二代藩主の光圀が
世継ぎの公家出身のお嫁さんに
農業、コメ作りの大変さを教えるために作ったそうです。
もちろん、実際にやらせたわけではなくて、
見せるためだそうです。

現在は、文京区立柳町小学校の5年生が
田植えをしたり、
稲刈りをしたりするそうです。

この近くには、沢山の彼岸花が咲いていて、
幻想的な世界になっています。
A lot of spider lilly are blooming near here,
