谷中の菊人形を見てきました。
I saw a chrysanthemum doll in Yanaka.
ここは、大圓寺というお寺。
This is a temple called Dainenji.

寺建築には珍しく、２棟がくっついた建物。
It is rare for temple building, building where two buildings stuck together.
何でも、
明治維新の時の、神仏分離の際に、
お稲荷さんを菩薩様に見立てることで、
神社を改めて作らずにすんだんだそうです。
during the Meiji Restoration, government made a rule, the separation of Buddhism and Shinto.
By changing Inari Divine to Bodhisattva,
this temple seemed to have survive the situation.
ここは、笠森稲荷と言われていて、
本当は、瘡守と書いて、皮膚の病気にきくお稲荷さんだったそうです。
This place is said to be Kasamori Inari,
In truth, it is said this place is good for skin diseases.
昔、有名な看板娘がいて、
それを鈴木春信が錦絵に書いたことでも有名だとか。
There used to be a famous girl,
It is also famous that Suzuki Harunobu depicted it in wood block print.
