秋の始め、
木を見上げると、実がなっています。
今日は、東京の庭園で見つけた3つの実をご紹介します。
The beginning of autumn,
Looking up at the tree, the fruit is growing.
Today, I will introduce three fruits found in the Tokyo garden.

先日、旧芝離宮恩寵庭園（https://www.tokyo-park.or.jp/park/format/about029.html）に行きましたら、こんな実を見ました。

ハゼの実です。
It is the seeds of wax tree.
こちら、伝統的なろうそくの原料です。
現在一般的に市販されているろうそくと比べると5倍の耐久力があるそうです。
停電の時に、便利ですね。
This is the raw material of a traditional candle.
It seems that there is 5 times more durability compared to the candle currently on the market.
It is convenient when there is a power outage.
ハゼの実は、その他にも、お相撲さんの鬢付け油にも使われています。
The fruit of the goby tree is also used for the sumo oil of sumo wrestlers.
②くちなしの実gardenia fruit
これは、小石川後楽園（https://www.tokyo-park.or.jp/park/format/index030.html）で撮影しました。
くちなしの実は、おせちの栗きんとんを鮮やかな黄色に仕上げる色素として、おなじみです。
The fruit is familiar as a pigment coloring ingredients to bright yellow.
その他にも、この形が、将棋盤の足に使われています。
「口無し」の意味から、口出ししないという意味だそうです。
Besides, this shape is used for the foot of the shogi board.
From the meaning of “no mouth”, it seems to mean that it does not speak out.
③柞（いす）の木の実？The fruit of tree?

木に、ぶらぶらぶら下がっているものがありますね。

これは、実ではなくて、アブラムシがつくった虫こぶです。

珍しいものがみられました。
